ANAESTHETIC FEES

The anaesthesia fee is largely covered by Medicare and medical insurance companies, which we deal with directly. The fee is related to the complexity and duration of the surgery and the requirement for additional anaesthetic procedures to improve your safety and pain relief. The fees are significantly lower than those recommended by the Australian Medical Association.

 

The direct cost to you (out of pocket expense) depends on the health fund and type of surgery. You will receive an invoice before your operation and this will not change regardless of the duration or complexity of the operation. Seniors and retirees will receive a partial or full discount.
