Pain Relief Catheters //
Knee Joint Replacement
Using advanced ultrasound techniques a local anaesthetic catheter will be placed adjacent to nerves in your thigh to reduce pain signals from your knee joint. This will be connected to a simple portable lightweight pump which will deliver numbing medication (local anaesthetic) for several days after your operation.
CURRENT INTERESTS
After several years working as a specialist in both critical care and anaesthesia, Dr Lennon now works in full time anaesthesia. His main interest is trying to ensure a smooth recovery following surgery with a particular focus on pain relief.
Dr Lennon works in the public sector at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital covering the emergency lists and working alongside emerging specialists.
The remainder of his time is spent at Hollywood Private Hospital and Bethesda Hospital working with Professor Riaz Khan and Professor Dan Fick, and Dr Travis Falconer, orthopaedic surgeons specialising in reconstructive and joint replacement surgery.
He also provides anaesthetic services for the Hollywood Clinic Mental Health Facility.
The blend of 'public' and 'private' medicine is helpful both in maintaining up to date current practice and cross fertilisation of ideas and practices across both sectors.
